Rich and creamy hot chocolate with a hint of peppermint, the perfect warm and comforting treat on a cold winters day

Ingredients

Scale
  • 240ml Whole milk
  • 115g Dark chocolate, 70% cocoa (4oz)
  • 2 tsp Brown sugar, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
  • Heavy or thickened cream, whipped, to serve
  • Candy Canes to serve

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the chocolate
  2. Heat the milk together in a small saucepan over medium heat until almost boiling
  3. Remove from the heat and add the chopped chocolate, stir until the chocolate has completely melted
  4. Taste and add the peppermint extract and brown sugar to your liking to the chocolate mixture
  5. Divide the hot chocolate between two small mugs and top with a dollop of whipped cream
