Soft and chewy center with a crisp crust, these chocolate chip cookies are packed full of chocolate chunks for the ultimate cookie

Ingredients

  • 120g Unsalted butter, room temperature (1/2 cup)
  • 90g Brown sugar (1/2 cup)
  • 50g White sugar (1/4 cup)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 180g Plain flour (1 1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 200g Semi-sweet chocolate bar, roughly chopped (7.05oz)
  • Flakey salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C/533F, fan forced
  2. Line an oven tray with baking paper
  3. Combine the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl and mix until well combined
  4. Add the egg and vanilla, and beat until combined
  5. Add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, and mix until just combined
  6. Fold in the chopped chocolate
  7. Cover with cling wrap and place in the fridge to chill for at least 1 hour
  8. Remove from the fridge and shape into 12 balls
  9. Place the cookie dough balls on the lined oven tray, making sure to leave enough space between each ball for the cookie to spread
  10. Bake for 12 to 13 minutes, until golden brown
  11. Cool for 30 minutes and enjoy!
